Launch concert: St James's, Piccadilly, July 2013
In July 2013, the choirs of Merton College, Oxford and Jesus College, Cambridge came together in the magnificent setting of St James’s, Piccadilly to officially launch the Muze Trust. Joined by the girls of St. Margaret’s, Bushey, the choirs performed a range of Western and African music in a concert to formally launch The Muze Trust.
Over £2,000 was raised for the Trust, enabling it to contribute to the construction of purpose-built facilities for the Ngoma Dolce Academy. The remainder made it possible to embark upon a new and exciting collaboration with The Estelle Trust: to fund four students to visit Lusaka and support music teaching and outreach projects.

St Margaret's School, Bushey supports Muze
Between September 2012 and July 2013, St. Margaret's School in Bushey organised a number of events in order to raise funds for Muze. These included a coin trail in the autumn term and a concert in which the girls performed items inspired by the rich African musical tradition. At the end of the year, the school gave the Trust a cheque for £1152.37
Thank you to the girls, teachers and parents for your fantastic fund-raising efforts.
This summer, we were thrilled to repeat our young musican placement programme. Last year, with the generous support of The Estelle Trust, we funded four students with a strong musical background to visit Lusaka for a period of two weeks in order to assist music teaching and run music outreach workshops in and around Lusaka. Whilst in Lusaka, the students kept a blog recording their reflections on their first experience of teaching music in Zambia.
This year, musicians Rachel Ambrose Evans and Timothy Keasley worked in Mukuni village in the south of Zambia, as well as in the capital. Read their blog here.

Continuing to build on the collaboration between Jesus College Choir, Cambridge and Merton College Choir, Oxford, a concert was held in Merton College Chapel on 7th July in aid of the Muze Trust. We are enormously grateful to Merton for their hospitality and for their help in arrangements.
The concert was a great success and we are looking forward to a further concert in July 2016!
